I loved that norman Gentle guy. He is hilarious.
Queen Latifah and Lil Rounds were bad ass. Damnit, Lil, had you sang like that during your last nights you'd have gotten farther!
Alexis and Anoop and whasthisface were great. Alexis is so friggin adorable. She definitely got eliminated too early.
Allen and Urban were a good duet. I like Adam better but Kris has a great voice. 'Shouldn't be lonely in this big ole world, I wanna kiss a girl' Fun song.
Fergie/Black Eyed Peas song was pretty bad ass. What happened like a minute in? They blocked out a part and I was wondering why they didn't just bleep whatever was being said.
Kara and Katrina. that was pretty damn funny. Kara can sing! Good for her.
Allison and Cyndi Lauper. Fucking fantastic. That girl got robbed.
Danny and Lionel Richie. Holy shit. Man they get some great people on this show! Fucking fantastic duet.
ADAM AND KISS!!!! YES!!! I am blown away they got KISS to play that show. It was fucking awesome.
Carlos Santana. Nice.
Steve Martin. Awesome. Megan Joy, not so much.
Rod Stewart. That man has sounded like an 80 year old since he was 15. Great song though :)
QUEEN!! Man this show really ended right. Amazing. Nice of idiot Megan joy to be talking during the performance SHE IS IN. Good fucking grief.
OMFG they made Kris sing tht fucking song again!!! WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO HIM???
I wanted Adam to win but Kris seems like a great guy so I'm not too annoyed. Adam took it well. I am surprised i thought he had it.
Good season. Even if they did bring she who should never be named back. Ugh.

I knew Kris would win, even though Adam is immeasurably better. He got Gokey's votes, and Adam's too OMG GAY for a lot of people, unfortunately. By which I mean, Kris won AI because of bigotry, not talent, because while he's a good singer and all, I don't understand how anyone with properly-functioning ears could ever think he's better than Adam.

Now I'm off to find videos of all the performances :)

Edited to point out that Kris himself is no bigot; I meant voters' bigotry.

I disliked Adam's scream/wail. I also disliked that he sounds like he came from an 80's hair band. I also disliked his tendency to be overtheatrical and exercise his impressive, shrieky range on just about EVERY. SINGLE. PERFORMANCE. As someone else on my f-list noted, Adam will be great in concert but I actually could see myself buying/downloading Kris' album.

Yeah, I can see that Adam's style isn't to everyone's taste. I just found Kris to be a bit boring.

I agree with banshee99...all Adam ever did was shriek and it was annoying. It's funny cause everytime he does that note (in every single performance) he'd stick his tongue out. Makes me laugh. Adam did extremely well with KISS though, that was crazy!!

I never saw it as shrieking, and I love his voice, but I know exactly what you mean about the tongue sticking out. You'd think someone might have told him about that at some point, like "er, Adam...look at this video of yourself. See the tongue? Please do something about the tongue."

It's no biggie to me - personal preferences are a way of life. The guy I wanted to win was voted out weeks ago. I miss Mr. Oil Rig dude. :(

Yeah; ultimately it's just a TV singing competition, and I think some of the good ones will have a career after this anyway just because they got exposure on here. I wish Allison had got further, but I know she'll have a record deal anyway.

A good example is Jennifer Hudson. She really made the right career choices and ended up with an academy award. That's dedication.

But then there are flops like Taylor Hicks, who was dropped from his label because he couldn't sell enough records.

Yeah; I judge the success of the various former contestants by whether or not I know who they are when I see them mentioned on [info]ohnotheydidnt - I live in Ireland and have no television so they have to do pretty well for me to know who they are. I really like Jennifer Hudson and had totally forgotten she was an AI contestant.

Dude, I didn't mean everyone who voted for Kris was a bigot; I think he's a good singer and I can definitely see that Adam is not to everyone's taste. But there will have been a lot of votes which went to Kris regardless of his actual talent purely because he's the straight one.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I liked Kara a little more after her performance with the bikini girl. I was super shocked about Adm singing with KISS.. thought that was fantastic.

I don't mind that Kris won, but I'm a little disappointed. It's not like I really keep up with the contestants after the show is over, though, lol.

In a way, 2nd place might be better for him because he'll probably get more artistic freedom on his album because it won't have to be catered to the popular public as much.

I've heard that. Supposedly Daughtry has made such comments. He is super popular and he got voted off, what was it, 5th season? I don't even know who won that season.
I feel horrible for Kris that he has to put out that single that Kara wrote. That song seriously blows.

I'm glad Kris won. Adam's songs on the radio with the constant skrieky note would ruin my music life. lol. I do think though, that Kris won because all the people voting for Danny probably didn't like Adam at all, therefore voted for Kris. Because Kris and Adam are to VERY different performers. Either you like Adam or you don't. I'm on the don't side. lol.
OMG funniest thing ever when Kara came out and started singing OVER bikini girl (aka Katrina) and sounded WAY better. I was actually amazing she could sing. lol.
The Fergie/Black Eyed Peas was a weird performance...weren't they boo'ed off the stage at the super bowl? :|

Anyways, GREAT way to end the season. =D

Yeah, I definitely think Adam wasn't everybody's cup of tea, so a lot of people voted for "the other guy" just so that "the shrieker" wouldn't win. NOBODY disliked Kris the way a lot of people disliked Adam (except for some Kris fans, I'm sure).

I don't think it's necessary 100% an issue of gay vs. straight, either. I just think Kris has a more generic popular style of music/dress that anybody can get into, whereas with Adam, it's more a matter of taste.

Oh, and in an interview with Kara today on TV, she said that bikini girl and her sister came up to her backstage and were PISSED about that whole thing. They told her that she had the body of a 50 yr old hag.

I was told that Adam might have been gay, but I didn't think that really mattered. Nor do I have any idea that its true or not.
